Our July Radiology MVP Award goes to Christin Schneider, clinical manager of Interventional Radiology. Christin has received four well-deserved nominations over the year for her fearless and compassionate leadership through significant change. If you know Christin, you know her giant smile and positive approach to life, characteristics that make working with her a joy.
Despite joining Radiology as a new leader just a couple of years ago, Christin’s curiosity, drive to learn and grow, and advocacy for her team have carried her through a period of tremendous change in Interventional Radiology. Through all of the ups and downs, Christin has kept her techs and nurses at the heart of her work, ensuring they are seen and cared for during transition and uncertainty. Below are excerpts from Christin’s nominations over the year, highlighting the dedication and thoughtfulness that make Christin a true MVP leader in Radiology.
We have a ton of talented people who do great work every day in this department. But when I think of someone that truly goes above and beyond every day, I think of Christin. The past year + has been the most challenging our IR team has experienced. Between significant faculty turnover, staff vacancies, and constant change, there have been plenty of opportunities for things to fall through the cracks. They didn’t—and in large part due to Christin. She has taken on more than can reasonably be expected…No matter how busy she is, Christin is approachable, positive, and kind. She takes the time to listen, she communicates well, and works through any challenge presented to her. She is one of the strongest advocates that I know for her team, and if possible, an even stronger advocate for our patients.
Christin has been showing unwavering and strong leadership during a period of incredible uncertainty and change in interventional radiology. During this time, she has been a consistent and stabilizing force for the staff and referring services. All the while she has been implementing change driven from both within and outside of the division…
Christin is working through a lot of challenging situations and handling it all with professionalism. She shows up for her team every day. She communicates clearly and advocates when needed, always keeping the focus on doing what is right for our patients. She puts in a tremendous amount of time and energy into her job; her dedication is impressive. Christin is awesome—a strong leader who has made a huge impact when it is needed the most.
Over the past several months, Christin has stepped up in a big way, putting in a significant amount of extra time and effort…so that our patients can be taken care of. She has done an outstanding job onboarding external providers, building and managing provider schedules, and working closely with referring services and clinics, along with countless other tasks needed to keep the IR service running smoothly. This work has been substantial. What stands out most is how willingly Christin took this on. She didn’t hesitate to step up, and she did so with a thoughtful and collaborative approach. Her communication is excellent. She has proactively identified challenges, has clearly communicated roadblocks, and has partnered with others to find solutions. During a time of some uncertainty, Christin provides stability and demonstrates strong leadership. Christin is incredibly thoughtful and brings genuine fun to work. Whether it is with her amazing trivia and games or her bright smile and laughter, she works to keep morale high. Even with all that is going on, she remains positive. We are lucky to have Christin during this transition—and always!

July Nominees:
Anna Lee is the Clinical Director of Anesthesia Imaging. Anna was a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) nurse for almost fifteen years, six of which she was a manager. One of her favorite parts of being a leader in the PICU was watching people find their passion and running with it, making the care we give our patients better and better every day.
Glenn Miñano is a media specialist in the Department of Radiology, providing graphic design, photography, printing, video services, and administration of the department’s online properties. His works have been published in several medical articles, such as the American Journal of Radiology and the American Institute of Ultrasound. He has been providing these services to the Radiology Department since 1996.
