Meet Beth Finan, Technologist at Cincinnati Children’s Liberty Campus

My name is Beth Finan and I’m a Radiologic Technologist here at Cincinnati Children’s. I have been with Children’s since 1998.  I started as a clerk in the old file room of the Radiology Department and then moved to a Patient Care Assistant, also within the department. Later I worked as a student radiology tech and finally as a technologist. I worked at the Base Hospital until 2008 and then transferred to Children’s Liberty.

I enjoy working at Children’s and take a lot of pride in my job. I strive to help and treat our young patients in the best way possible. If I can bring a smile to a child’s face, then instantly my day is brightened.

My Radiology family is very special; they have been with me from the beginning and watched me grow as a person. They’ve also been there during the times when I needed them the most — on my wedding day, during my husband’s recovery from a boating accident, when my children were born, and at my mother’s funeral. I have been fortunate to work in such an amazing place and with such an amazing department. I’ve seen the great care patients are given firsthand when my own kids needed treatment.

I am a mom of two and my kids are getting bigger and starting school.  If I had a super power, I would love to be invisible to protect them from everything, especially bullying. My five-year-old and I love to play Candy Crush on our Saga.

I am known as “The Mayor,” and I got that title from one of the nurses when I was his go-to person. My favorite song right now is “Brave” by Sara Barielles.  This is the song I listen to when I’m having a bad day. I crank it up and belt it out. My favorite TV show is Parenthood, which makes me laugh and cry on a weekly basis. My favorite movies are Dirty Dancing and Grease.

My dream vacation would go like this: on the beach, toes in the sand with a cold drink in my hand.  I would love for my family to be there as well, just enjoying life and not having a worry in the world.

My favorite candy, hands down, is Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs! Love, love, love them. Mexican is my favorite type of food. I love Chipotle and El Rancho Grande, and my favorite ice cream is Mint Chocolate Chip.  There is a great place by my house called Flubs that has some good ice cream.

I hope you have enjoyed getting to know me!
