Evan Slavik, our previous director of Radiology Informatics, was promoted to senior director – Information Services, Enterprise Imaging. Enter Pushya Ramaswamy; she began her career at Cincinnati Children’s in our Imaging Research Center (IRC) as a research assistant in 2004. She took the mantle of being our new director of Radiology Informatics.
Here is her story.
Hello! Vanakkam! _/\_
I am Pushya Ramaswamy and have been a Cincinnatian since 2004. I am originally from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the southernmost state of India.
My home in Chennai was 10 minutes away from the beach, and I spent many evenings and mornings there. I miss the proximity to the coast the most now! I gladly escape to beach towns and nature-rich vacations when I can fit them in my schedule. I enjoy spending time with my family, learning to play the guitar through YouTube tutorials, riding my motorcycle, and taking trips back home to see family and friends.
I came to the U.S. to pursue a master’s degree in computer engineering at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and chose to make Cincinnati my permanent home. I started my Cincinnati Children’s journey in 2004 at the Imaging Research Center as a research assistant. I left Children’s in 2022 to help implement the EMR systems at the VA hospitals. I am thrilled to be back at Cincinnati Children’s as the Radiology Informatics director, and especially back to Radiology where my journey began two decades ago.
