Hello, my name is Nick Rittle and I am grateful to join the Cincinnati Children’s group as the new physician assistant. I grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and spent my high school summers volunteering at Allegheny General Hospital (which was recently made famous as the set for the TV show “The Pitt”). There I was able to experience most aspects of the medical field, which strengthened my decision to pursue the physician assistant career. After high school I attended Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania, for undergrad and grad school and graduated with my Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) in 2017.
For the past nine years, I have worked as a PA specializing in surgery and trauma, the last seven of those years next door at the University of Cincinnati. After becoming a father in 2023, I was drawn to working with children and parents, which prompted my transition to Cincinnati Children’s. Cincinnati Children’s is world renowned, and when the opportunity presented itself to join the organization, I was both humbled and motivated to join.
As an advanced practice provider within the department of Interventional Radiology, I can work with a diverse group of nurses, techs and doctors to formulate treatment plans and assist with procedures to improve the outcome of patients from across the globe.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my daughter and wife (an occupational therapist here at CCHMC). We love to visit the zoo and all the new restaurants and events in the Cincinnati area. We are currently fixing up our new home, which is giving me the opportunity to learn about electricity, plumbing, woodworking, tiling, and more…. but I would prefer to play golf.
The last book I read was Ready Player One, and the last movie I saw was Frozen II.
