Radiology Welcomes New 2024 Research Fellow

My name is Pradipta Debnath, but you can also call me Pro! I was born and raised in Bangladesh. Growing up, I really enjoyed going to cultural and religious festivals with my parents. One of the most notable is Pohela Boishakh (Bengali New Year) where we dress up and visit New Year fairs around town.

After finishing high school, I moved to the UK for medical school at the University of Nottingham. I had a great time there and made some lifelong friendships. Interestingly, I lived a couple of minutes away from Wollaton Hall, which was used as Wayne Manor in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.

I decided to pursue a career in medicine due to my fascination with the human body’s incredible physiology as well as to make a lasting impact on people’s lives. Some of the great people I will be working with include Dr. Andrew Trout, Dr. Shireen Hayatghaibi, and Dr. Jonathan Dillman on a wide range of projects in pediatric abdominal imaging.

My hobbies include watching and (sometimes even performing) stand-up comedy! I also like to meditate on a regular basis. I love watching sports, too, especially soccer (the REAL football) and cricket. I am quite interested in getting into American sports like baseball, American football, or basketball. Feel free to recommend any sports/sporting teams whenever you meet me.

The last book I read was Do No Harm by Henry Marsh and one of the last movies I watched was The Flash (spoiler warning: a certain caped crusader was in it too!).
