Greg Jordan hails from Middletown, Ohio, a quaint city just a short 30-minute drive north of Cincinnati. Reflecting on his upbringing, Greg fondly recalls the joy of growing up close to family and the camaraderie of playing sports. These experiences have been integral in shaping his character and work ethic.

A Calling to Medicine

Greg’s journey into the medical field was deeply personal. The turning point came when he faced the emotional challenge of caring for a close family member diagnosed with cancer. This experience exposed him to the intense hardships and emotional strain that come with terminal illnesses, igniting his passion for medicine and caregiving.

Why Cincinnati Children’s?

After years of pursuing his medical education and training far from home—first at medical school in Chicago and then a residency in Denver—Greg was eager to return closer to his roots. His choice to join Cincinnati Children’s, the top-ranked children’s hospital in the country, is both a professional and personal decision. It offers him the opportunity to contribute to a leading institution while being nearer to his hometown.

Professional Role

Currently, Greg is a fellow in pediatric radiology at Cincinnati Children’s. In this role, he specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions in young patients using advanced imaging techniques. He has an interest in reducing health disparities and improving access to radiologic care. His research interests include the intersection of radiology and metabolic health as it pertains to childhood obesity and metabolic syndrome.

Balancing Work and Life

Outside of his professional commitments, Greg leads an active lifestyle. His hobbies include running, with upcoming marathons scheduled in September and November, and weight lifting. He also enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and cherishing moments with family.

Recent Reads and Watches

In his downtime, Greg finds inspiration in books and films. Recently, he read Finding Ultra: Rejecting Middle Age, Becoming One of the World’s Fittest Men, and Discovering Myself by Rich Roll, a memoir that resonates with his own fitness aspirations.

Greg’s journey is a testament to the power of personal experience in shaping one’s career path. His dedication to pediatric radiology and his commitment to family and personal well-being highlight his passion and drive both within and beyond the hospital walls.
