Emerson Litzenberg—known to friends and family as Emmy—is excited to begin her journey at Cincinnati Children’s as a nuclear medicine technologist. Originally from the small town of Antwerp, Ohio, Emmy grew up enjoying the outdoors with her family, especially camping trips to Marble Lake. Her move to Cincinnati for the university opened the door to new opportunities, both personally and professionally.
A Passion for the Outdoors and Long?Distance Running

Outside of work, Emmy is an avid traveler and hiker. One of her favorite adventures was completing the Soldier Pass trail in Sedona, Arizona, a memorable hike she did in May of last year. She also enjoys reading—most recently finishing Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Running is one of Emmy’s biggest passions. She completed her first half marathon in October and is now training for her first full marathon. At the top of her bucket list is the Walt Disney World Marathon, a race she hopes to experience in the future.
Discovering Her Path in Medical Imaging
Emmy’s interest in medical imaging began during a summer internship in her hometown, where she first saw the impact imaging professionals have on patient care. She chose the University of Cincinnati for its Advanced Medical Imaging Program, initially drawn to the MRI track. That path eventually led her to nuclear medicine, where she found her true calling.
Through her clinical rotations at Cincinnati Children’s, Emmy discovered a passion for working with pediatric patients. The combination of advanced imaging technology, meaningful patient interaction, and the opportunity to make a difference in children’s lives solidified her decision to pursue nuclear medicine as a career.
Emmy shares that she feels honored to join such an exceptional care team. Her enthusiasm, compassion, and dedication to pediatric imaging make her a strong addition to the Radiology department.
