The United Way of Greater Cincinnati is doing a lot of great things for our region (which includes adjacent counties in Indiana and Kentucky, not just the Ohio counties around Cincinnati), and is an important partner for Cincinnati Children’s as we increase our efforts and change our strategies to improve the health and well-being of children and families in our region. United Way works dozens of agencies to support needed services in the area ranging from the Freestore Food Bank to legal aid groups to early childhood education to healthcare and more.
Our Department of Radiology is doing its part in giving to the United Way. We are raising donations by holding raffles of “paid-time-off” (PTO) hours, drawings for prizes (gift cards, tickets, etc.), department team competition on who has the highest percentage of participation, etc. Events such as an ice cream social, food drive donations and our Halloween Parade remind our co-workers to donate to the cause and also unite us in our camaraderie. The department is conducting these events all through October.
We are fortunate to work here at Cincinnati Children’s and to have the opportunity to do meaningful work. The work of the United Way has become an extension of the Cincinnati Children’s mission.
