Becci Pryor is entering a new chapter as she retires from the Radiology Department at Cincinnati Children’s. At the end of April, friends, family, and radiology coworkers gathered to celebrate her career and wish her well in retirement.

Becci has been with Cincinnati Children’s for 18 years, serving as our accreditation & regulatory consultant. She brought a strong background in radiology technology along with extensive clinical experience in radiography, interventional radiology (IR), and the catheter lab. She has also held a manager role, giving her a well?rounded understanding of both frontline care and operational leadership.

Over the years, Becci’s depth of knowledge and steady guidance helped the department navigate numerous inspections and The Joint Commission (TJC) surveys, formal on?site evaluations conducted by The Joint Commission, an independent, nonprofit organization that accredits and certifies healthcare organizations across the United States. Her leadership has played a key role in keeping Radiology prepared, compliant, and confident during every review.
Julie Dickerson, RN, shared the following about Becci’s impact:
“Becci manages all the radiology policies. She handles vendor, student, and visitor requirements and badging. She participates in quality improvement projects and does a lot of data collection. She is a radiation safety guru as well. And she does all this with a smile on her face! Her hard work is evident every time we have a successful TJC visit or ODH inspection.”

In recognition of her exceptional contributions, Becci was awarded the Radiology Department Safety Award, an honor given by peers to individuals who go above and beyond in their daily work. Colleagues shared feedback that highlighted her dedication and leadership:
“Becci did a tremendous job providing radiology staff with helpful information about how to prepare for the Joint Commission visit. Her emails were easy to access and review, and I felt more prepared than ever. This may be part of why our division did so well during the survey. Thank you for your hard work and support!”
Another teammate noted her commitment to education and collaboration:
“Thanks everyone for all your help with the Radiology Life Support course. We had a lot of people to get through, and everyone did a great job being flexible. I truly appreciate Becci’s insights on how to make the course better.”
As she looks ahead to retirement, Becci is excited to spend more time with her family and enjoy gardening.

Thank you, Becci, for your many years of service, leadership, and dedication to safety and quality in radiology. You will be greatly missed, and we wish you all the best in this next chapter.
