We have two new faces that have joined our Radiology family. Dr. Mengmeng Zheng and Alexandra (Alex) Glenn. Dr. Zheng is our new radiologist, and Dr. Glen is one of our new radiologist research fellows.
Mengmeng Zheng
Hi, my name is Mengmeng Zheng, and I’m one of the new faculty radiologists at Cincinnati Children’s. I specialize in emergency and general radiology.
I grew up in Jiamusi, a small town in Northeastern China. The weather there is very similar to Minnesota with very cold and snowy winters. Some of my favorite memories growing up are snowball fights with my cousins and going to the capital of my province to see the Harbin Snow and Ice Festival.
My family immigrated to the U.S. in 2004 and moved to southern Indiana. It was a major change for me. Winters were a lot easier to endure than what I grew up with. My parents still live there now, which is only 1 hour and 40 minutes from Cincinnati.
Alex Glenn
Hi, my name is Alex Glenn, and I’m returning to Cincinnati Children’s as a research fellow in the Radiology Department. I was born in Texas and lived in six different states growing up, but I spent most of my later childhood in Little Rock, Arkansas. Moving around a lot meant having lots of fun experiences across the country, but my favorite times were with my grandmother in a cottage on Lake Michigan in the summer. I love watching the sunset on the lake!
My interest in medicine started in high school. I loved science, and—thanks to many sports injuries—I became interested in how the human body works. I went to college to study Athletic Training and Media Production, where I worked with several collegiate teams (Go Tar Heels!) and enjoyed filmmaking. It wasn’t until my final semester that I realized I wanted to pursue a career in medicine, which led me to Cincinnati to start at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 2020.
One of the main reasons I chose UCCOM was its strong connection to Cincinnati Children’s—I originally thought I’d become a pediatrician. I was a summer clinical research student in the Radiology Department in 2021, and that experience was the best! I discovered how fascinating radiology is and how impactful research in this field can be. I graduated from UCCOM in December 2024, and I’m thrilled to now be part of the team as a research fellow, working alongside amazing faculty and staff on a variety of pediatric imaging projects.
Outside of work, I love being outdoors and staying active. I’m a die-hard Chicago sports fan (Go Cubs!), and I enjoy playing tennis, pick-up soccer, and ice skating in the winter. On the cozier side, I love to crochet and knit—you’ll almost always find some yarn nearby! My go-to fun fact is that I worked at Disney World right after college, so I know a lot about Disney now.
The last book I read was Winter in Sokcho by Elisa Shua Dusapin, and I’m currently reading East of Eden by John Steinbeck. My goal is to read 52 books a year! I’m also a pretty big film fan—Little Miss Sunshine was my most recent rewatch.
We are thrilled to welcome both Drs. Mengmeng Zheng and Alex Glenn to our radiology team at Cincinnati Children’s. Together, their unique skills and experiences will undoubtedly enrich our team and contribute to the continued excellence of our Radiology Department. We’re so excited to have them on board!
