Top 3 Things That I Love About Cincinnati Children’s Radiology

Patient Care

Patients always come first in our Radiology Department. From the moment a doctor thinks about ordering an imaging exam, every part of the process has been designed to help your child feel great about his or her experience. The radiologists and support staff are always around to help clinicians if they have a question. Every CT and MRI order placed gets screened by the radiologist to ensure the right exam is taking place and that it is protocolled appropriately.

Imaging exams have been standardized to insure consistent, optimal diagnostic quality and safety. A newly implemented email communication program also increases the ability for our department to address any concerns that patients may have.

State-of-the-Art Imaging Equipment and Software

The department is committed to having the best imaging equipment and software. While there is continual quality control and maintenance of existing equipment, the regularly scheduled equipment replacement program ensures that we get to work with state-of-the-art technology.

The newest ultrasound, CT and MRI imaging technologies such as volume acquisitions, repeating reconstructions and non-contrast angiography expand our diagnostic range, improve image quality and increase patient safety. Advanced imaging post-processing software also allow for evaluation of organ anatomy and function like never before with tools that allow for organ segmentation, 3D volume rendering, and quantitative static and dynamic tissue characterization. Truly an amazing time to be alive!

Radiology Department Staff

The team of pediatric diagnostic radiologists and support staff at Cincinnati Children’s are truly remarkable. There is a super-star team of nationally and internationally recognized radiologists, who not only have an incredible depth of knowledge and clinical experience, but are also at the forefront of advancing research, education and patient care. Even with all that, we would not be able to give patients the best care possible without the tremendous radiology help staff. The x-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI technologists, child-life specialists, nurses and administrative assistants
are some of the best I have had the chance to work with and really do a great job giving
patients the best care possible.
