Thirty-nine years of service can’t be condensed into a single blog post. This is part two of “Saying Good-Bye to Tracey Adams.”
Tracey Adams’s last day at work for Cincinnati Children’s Radiology’s Ultrasound Division was May 2. She leaves behind a professional, caring and well-trained group of sonographers. Her legacy to the department will not just be the quality of staff she leaves behind, but the environment of caring for her co-workers as a family.
Here are more letters of tribute from her staff as well as more photos from her retirement event.

I will never forget the time I called Tracey to ask for time off because my son had to get fitted for a helmet for plagiocephaly. Not long after I started talking I just broke out into tears and lost it. She was so great and compassionate; she told me everything was going to be ok and talked me down. After that I began to think, Tracey has been manager to over 30 women and I am pretty sure she has at one point or another done the same thing for each and every one of us. She is such an awesome, kind, and generous person and I am so blessed that I have gotten to work for her for so many years.

When I think of Tracey Adams, the first words that come to mind are selflessness, kindness and compassion. Tracey consistently puts everyone else before herself. In my 26 years of working for her, she has always had my back, through good times and bad. She has shared my joys and sorrows, my successes and failures, lending her guidance, support and encouragement along the way.
Tracey has built our ultrasound department into the top-notch, well-respected unit that it is today. It has been my honor and privilege to work for her. I will miss her terribly as my manager, mentor and friend.

Retiring from work will be wonderful for you. It will enable you to pick up forgotten hobbies and enjoy much more time with family and friends. It will mark the beginning of living for you! Since knowing you for so many years, I will miss reminiscing about school days, old friends, events that happened in the 70s and 80s, and the looks from our younger co-workers in awe as we talked about the past (giggle, giggle), but what I will miss the most is your smile, gentle authoritative voice, laughter and just YOU!!! And I cannot tell you in words just how much.
