Radiology’s Top Ten Blogs for 2015

As 2015 comes to an end, we are inevitably bound to reflect on the past 12 months and really cherish all the hard work. In an effort to honor the hard work of 2015’s Cincinnati Children’s Radiology Blog team, here are this past year’s top ten post:

10) Meet-the-Team: Liberty Technologist
This post is one of many that reminds us of our satellite facilities. These scattered locations allow us to change the outcome for a much wider range of families. All of us working together make Cincinnati Children’s the amazing family it is today.

9) Many Departments Come Together for Your Child’s MRI
Keeping with the theme of working together and family, number nine on our list takes a moment to explain the tightly knit team behind each and every visit. No role is too small.

8) Cincinnati Children’s Provides First Ever Neonatal Imaging Right Inside the NICU
The article in the number eight spot speaks of Cincinnati Children’s constant pushing of the envelope and need for innovation. Within this piece the author describes the MRI housed in our NICU unit, which was created here at Cincinnati Children’s.

7) What is a Physicist Doing in MRI?
This post dives deeper into the many ways our physicists affect the world of MRI.

6) “Imagine If…” On International Day of Radiology (IDoR)
Taking a radiology holiday to remind us of our roots, number seven dares us to imagine if these technologies we utilize every day were to never have existed.

5) Meet the Team: Dr. Jonathan Dillman
As a way to welcome one of our newest colleagues, this article introduces us to Dr. Dillman and describes which experiences he hopes to bring with him from his past endeavors.

4) Patient Experience: Owen
It is no wonder the story of Owen ranks so high on our top ten. This post, written by his mother (who also happens to be an x-ray technologist), is a touching story of love and radiology.

3) What’s the Difference Between an MRI and CT?
I believe we may all have asked ourselves this question at least once in our lives, which might explain how this blog post that dissects and examines the many subtle differences between MRI and CT could have landed the third spot of our countdown.

2) Radiology Reveals Results of #MummyScan
In a string of articles and tweets, the coverage of #MummyScan certainly captivated our audience, giving it the number two position. These posts document a 500-year-old mummy and the amazing amount of information gained through the use of everyday Cincinnati Children’s radiology.

1) What’s the Difference Between Sedation and General Anesthesia?
With the most views of 2015, this article explains the differences between two very close words: sedation and general anesthesia.

It has certainly been an exciting and wonderful year. Hopefully next year will be just as stimulating. See you in 2016!
