Radiology Informatics Team Wins Poster Award!

Radiology Informatics Team Wins Poster Award!

The Cincinnati Children’s Radiology Department’s Informatics Team manages the computers and electronic systems necessary for the storage and interpretation of your child’s medical images. Each year the team participates in the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) annual conference. This year’s conference, which was held at the Pittsburgh Convention Center June 1-3, hosted thousands of attendees, including members of our own informatics group.

During the conference, the team members moderated and taught education sessions as well as presented a poster on a new technology we developed. Out of approximately 30 posters presented at the conference, one of our posters was awarded a second-place ribbon! The poster described a computer application we use to display up-to-date information to our radiologists and reading room staff on an electronic dashboard.

Among other things, the dashboard shows the status of imaging exams in our department along with important things our staff needs to know. It is color coded to draw attention to items that may need immediate action. This is just one more example of how Cincinnati Children’s Radiology Department brings innovation to the imaging services we provide to you and your family.
