The fallout of the pandemic has put a strain on the lives of so many people in our community. Many families have lost their income or have increased medical bills. They struggle to put food on the table, which is something many of us take for granted.
This time of year, our Radiology Department usually comes together to support the Freestore Foodbank by collecting donations of canned goods and other non-perishable food, but with COVID restrictions and social distancing measures in place, purchasing and dropping off food items was not an option.
Thankfully, there are other options to support children, families and seniors that face hunger by donating to the Foodbank virtually, allowing employees to simply click on a link to donate.
This week the Radiology Virtual Food Drive for the Freestore Foodbank began, helping to purchase food for our neighbors in need.
Donations will be used to support the greatest needs of Freestore Foodbank. All donations stay local and support families served by Freestore’s 500+ food pantry network.
