Part 1 of this series will introduce you to two of our four new ultrasound technologists in the Radiology Department. In their own words, please meet:
My name is Michele McDougal, and I recently moved here from Panama City, Florida, although Columbus, Ohio is “home.” I have my BA in Education from OSU, and graduated from Gulf Coast State College’s sonography program in 2017. I was working at a hospital there until Hurricane Michael hit this past October, causing me to relocate; I moved in with family in the Cincinnati area. I had envisioned going back to somewhere with warm weather, but Cincinnati Children’s and the local communities have won my heart.
When I’m not working, I enjoy cuddling with my pets, kayaking, hiking, yoga, reading, binging on Netflix, hanging out with my family, and volunteering with animal rescues or the church. Animals are a huge passion of mine (I’m a vegetarian/attempted vegan because of it). I’m a fur-momma to one dog and two cats. I used to live in Hawaii and trained dolphins (my dream job), but being far from family was hard, so I started to pursue a new career in the medical field. Ultrasound was my decided path after researching the amazing new technologies being used in this field.
My name is Liangjun Hu, but you can call me Jun. I’m originally from China and am now living in Mason, Ohio, with my wife, my 8-year-old son, and 7-year-old daughter. In my spare time, I like to watch action movies. I am a big fan of Jackie Chan. The last movie I watched with him in it was Dragon Blade.
Ultrasonography is really cool because it provides a diagnostic information on diseases and disorders and it does not harm the human body. I am so proud of being a member of the Radiology Department.
Glenn Miñano is a media specialist in the Department of Radiology, providing graphic design, photography, printing, video services, and administration of the department’s online properties. His works have been published in several medical articles, such as the American Journal of Radiology and the American Institute of Ultrasound. He has been providing these services to the Radiology Department since 1996.
