There is a new face in Imaging Research Center’s group, please say hello to Kelsey Wineland! Kelsey is a hometown gal and has always been interested in the medical field. To know more about Kelsey, here she is in her own words…
I was born and raised on the west side of Cincinnati, Ohio. I graduated from Oak Hills High School in 2011 and got accepted to the University of Cincinnati (UC). Knowing I wanted to be in the medical field, I applied and got accepted into the Advanced Medical Imaging Technology Program. I graduated college in 2015 and immediately started working at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. After 3.5 years there, I moved over the Cincinnati Children’s to pursue a better opportunity in MR imaging research.
I knew I wanted to work in the medical field since I was about 12 to 13 years old. At the time, my best friend’s mom worked in Nuclear Medicine at UC. I was fascinated with asking her questions about her job and knew it was something that interested me. In high school, I excelled in science, biology and chemistry so the medical field just made sense.
My hobbies include hanging out with my fiancé, Zack and our Goldendoodle, Doug. If you have ever seen the movie Up, that is where we got his name. In November of last year we bought a house and got engaged. Between the house, Doug and planning a wedding, those are my hobbies right now!
