Gina Davidson Retires with 34 Years of Service at Cincinnati Children’s

Post Date: June 22, 2023

In November 2022, Gina Davidson, RN, retired from Cincinnati Children’s. After 34 years of service, the time came for the next chapter of her life. Gina grew up in Middletown, Ohio, in a large extended family. She wanted to be a physical therapist but changed to the field of nursing after working with handicapped children as a nurse assistant.

In June 1988, she was hired by the emergency department at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She transferred to the liver transplant division and fell in love with the radiology department. All the nurses in the MRI division were absorbed into anesthesia imaging but still worked closely with their radiology co-workers.

During her time in the hospital, she has seen several changes, such as moving from paper to digital as well as new buildings being built on campus. She always espoused being respectful, patient, and taking care of your mental health. In her own words, she sees retirement as being “terrifying and exciting at the same time.”
