Becci Pryor Wins the Safety Award

Congratulations to Becci Pryor CRA, RT(R) on winning the Safety Award! This quarter we had a three-way tie. Safety coaches and managers voted, and Becci was chosen as the winner.

The Safety Award is given each quarter to the Radiology employee who receives the most safety-related Above and Beyond awards. Our Above and Beyond is an online system that we use to nominate/recognize employees who have gone above and beyond in their normal working day. In the event of a tie, the safety coach team and managers vote on who is the most deserving of the award.

Here are the Above and Beyonds Becci received:

• #1 Becci did a tremendous job providing Radiology staff with helpful information about how to prepare for the The Joint Commission (TJC) visit. (An independent, not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission accredits and certifies nearly 21,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States.) Her emails were so helpful, easy to access and review. I felt more prepared than ever, which may be in part as to why our division did so well during the survey. Great job and thanks so much for your hard work and support!!
• #2 Thanks everyone for all your help with the Radiology Life Support course yesterday. We had a lot of people to get through and everyone did a great job and you were all very flexible. I enjoy working with all of you and really appreciate your insights on how to make the course better.

Becci works a lot behind the scenes. She doesn’t have the most glamorous job in Radiology, but she has one of the most important. Becci deals with regulatory compliance in radiology, such as TJC and ODH. In addition, Becci manages all the radiology policies and Knowing Notes. She handles vendor, student and visitor requirements and badging. She participates in Quality Improvement projects and does a lot of data collection. She is the radiation safety guru as well. And she does all this with a smile on her face! Her hard work is evident every time we have a successful TJC visit or ODH inspection.
