Family Recognition Award Winner: Celebrating Haley Luedeke’s Impact in Radiology

Cincinnati Children’s Radiology is proud to recognize Haley LuedekeChild Life Specialist, as the FY26 Q2 Family Recognition Award recipient. This honor reflects the deep appreciation families have for Haley’s steady presence, compassionate care, and exceptional ability to support children through moments that can feel intimidating or overwhelming.

Haley’s work centers on helping children feel safe, understood, and empowered during their Radiology visits. Families consistently describe her as calm, warm, and intuitive—someone who can quickly sense what a child needs and respond in a way that eases fear and builds trust.

Her approach is grounded in empathy and expertise, and it shows in the way children relax, engage, and cope more confidently during procedures. For many families, her presence transforms what could be a stressful experience into one that feels manageable and even positive.

What Families Are Saying

The Role of Child Life in Radiology

Child Life Specialists play a vital role in helping children navigate medical environments. Haley’s work demonstrates the profound impact this support can have:

  • Reducing anxiety by preparing children in age?appropriate ways
  • Creating emotional safety during unfamiliar or stressful procedures
  • Supporting caregivers as they comfort and advocate for their children
  • Enhancing the overall patient experience through empathy and connection

Haley’s ability to meet each child where they are—emotionally and developmentally—has made her an invaluable part of the Radiology team.
