When nine-year-old Brody Parker was scheduled for an MRI at Cincinnati Children’s Liberty Campus, he faced a tough decision. His scan was originally planned to be done under anesthesia, but Brody really wanted to try completing the MRI while awake—even though he wasn’t sure he could manage it.
That’s when a special helper stepped in: George, Brody’s Christmas elf.
A Magical Surprise
The night before his MRI, Brody received an encouraging surprise. George, his Elf on the Shelf, left a thoughtful note promising to come along to the hospital for support. To travel safely without losing his magic—since Santa’s elves can’t be touched—George cleverly squeezed himself into a water bottle for the journey.
Facing Fears with Support
Even with George’s magical presence, Brody still felt nervous about holding still for the MRI. But with his mom sitting close by and George keeping a watchful eye, Brody summoned his courage.
With determination and support, he successfully completed the MRI without needing anesthesia! His bravery shone brightly, and he couldn’t wait for George to tell Santa how courageous he had been.
A Heartwarming Reminder
Brody’s story is a touching reminder of how a little creativity, comfort from loved ones, and a dash of holiday magic can help children face even the most challenging experiences. We’re so proud of Brody for his incredible bravery!
Way to go, Brody—and thank you, George, for being such a loyal and supportive elf!
