Radiology Adds Patient Representative to the Patient and Family Experience Committee

We are pleased to introduce a patient representative, Anna Schlosser, to our Radiology Patient and Family Experience (PFE) committee.

Anna joined the Patient Advisory Council for Cincinnati Children’s in 2019 and most recently joined the Radiology PFE committee. Input from Anna during the monthly meetings is vital to the commitment of being partnered with those we care for in radiology.

Anna meets with the PFE committee monthly to review patient and family surveys and improvement processes.

Anna was just 10 years old when she suffered cardiac arrest while at the Avondale Recreation Center. She was an inpatient at Cincinnati Children’s during this time. While a patient in cardiac rehabilitation, her therapist recognized that Anna showed signs of hypermobility, and she was later diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Throughout Anna’s young life, she has been a patient in X-ray, computerized tomography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, magnetic resonance imaging, and interventional radiology.  Anna’s experience in radiology will offer great insight during PFE meetings and how radiology staff can make the patient’s experience exceptional.

Anna recalls stories and challenges from many patients and families while serving on the Patient and Family Advisory Council. With her sense of empathy for others, and hearing the stories of these families, Anna has become an advocate for patients with sensory needs, especially in radiology with all the sights and sounds that a patient could encounter.

Anna was excited when asked to join the PFE team. Anna feels radiology sees a unique set of patients, and she is committed to offering her insight as a patient. One thing Anna appreciates is that following her radiology visits she can see her images right away on My Chart.

Anna has a brother (7th grade) and a sister (freshman in college) who have also been patients at Cincinnati Children’s and utilize radiology services.

Anna is currently entering her junior year of college at the University of Cincinnati and is studying to become a registered dietician. Her goal is to get a job at Cincinnati Children’s after she completes her program.
