Hi! My name is Molly Bunnell, and I’m one of the new Anesthesia Imaging RNs. I officially started in October, and I’m excited to be part of this team.
I’m originally from Louisville, Kentucky, but I moved to Cincinnati for college (go Bearcats!) and ended up staying because I loved it so much. Growing up as the middle child between two brothers who swam competitively and played soccer, life was always busy—and never boring. One of the biggest culture shocks when I moved to Cincinnati? Learning that school doesn’t shut down for The Kentucky Derby. In my family, Derby week is basically a holiday, and it’s still one of our favorite weeks of the year.
While I’m new to radiology, I’m not new to Cincinnati Children’s. For the past five years, I worked as an inpatient nurse in Cancer and Blood Diseases (CBDI) Clinical Labs. I decided to pursue nursing because I’ve always been passionate about helping others, and I’m definitely a hands-on person who doesn’t do well sitting still. I also love working with kids. I spent some time as a patient care assistant (PCA) at UC and quickly realized I prefer pediatrics over adult care—it just felt like the right fit.
I don’t have children of my own yet, but I absolutely adore kids. At home, my pride and joy is my four-year-old rescue dog, Mango, who is extremely spoiled and fully aware of it. Outside of work, you can usually find me watching reality TV, cheering on FCC, trying out pottery classes, or—most recently—planning my wedding.
For fun facts: The last book I read was Fourth Wing, and the last movie I watched was The Housemaid.
I’m so happy to be part of the Anesthesia Imaging team and working in collaboration with the Radiology MRI staff. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn, grow, and care for patients and families here at Cincinnati Children’s.
