Cincinnati Children’s is excited to welcome Dr. Jesus Beltran-Perez—known to friends and colleagues as “Chucho”—to the Radiology department.
Growing Up in Mexico City
Dr. Beltran-Perez was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. Some of his favorite childhood memories include weekends spent at his grandparents’ house and long days playing fútbol (soccer) with friends at the park until nightfall.
Inspired by Medicine
With both of his parents working as doctors, Dr. Beltran-Perez grew up immersed in the medical world. The routine of hospital life became second nature and helped inspire him to pursue a career in medicine himself.
Why Cincinnati Children’s?
For Dr. Beltran-Perez, joining Cincinnati Children’s was an easy decision. “Cincinnati Children’s Hospital is a top institution worldwide,” he explains. “It has incredible people to work with and an excellent pediatric interventional radiology program.”
Training and Role
Dr. Beltran-Perez recently graduated from the Interventional Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology program at the University of Texas Health San Antonio. As part of the Radiology team at Cincinnati Children’s, his focus is on learning as much as possible while providing outstanding care for patients and families.
Life Outside of Medicine
Outside of work, Dr. Beltran-Perez has many interests. He enjoys jogging, attending YMCA workout classes, and reading non-medical books—especially biographies and history. He also has a passion for maps and watches. A self-described foodie, Chucho loves cooking, trying new restaurants, and attending city events.
Recently, he read Aurora by Kim Stanley Robinson and watched the new Superman film.
