Introducing Tracie Kong: A New Journey in Pediatric Radiology

Early Life and Fond Memories

Hello, my name is Tracie Kong, and I am delighted to be one of the new clinical fellows in pediatric radiology. My journey began in Beijing, China, where I spent my childhood. One of my fondest memories from those early years is picking leaves from the mulberry tree behind our condo to feed the silkworms we raised in a shoe box. This simple yet fascinating activity sparked a lifelong interest in the natural world and nurtured my curiosity and dedication to understanding life’s intricate details.

Path to Pediatric Radiology

My path to pediatric radiology has been guided by a deep admiration for the dedication and expertise of professionals in the field. The diverse imaging modalities used in pediatric radiology captivate me, and I am excited about the opportunities for learning and growth that this fellowship year promises. The ability to contribute to the health and well-being of children through advanced imaging techniques is both a privilege and a passion.

A New Chapter in Cincinnati

I am new to the Cincinnati area, having recently moved from Los Angeles. Adjusting to a new city with my 6-month-old baby and our Malinois/retriever puppy has been an exciting adventure. Each day presents new opportunities to explore and experience the unique charm of Cincinnati.

Exploring Urban Life

Having lived in numerous urban areas, I have developed a love for exploring neighborhoods and trying out new restaurants. Cincinnati offers a vibrant culinary scene and diverse communities, and I look forward to immersing myself in all that this city has to offer. Walking through different neighborhoods allows me to connect with the local culture and discover hidden gems, making each exploration a delightful experience.

Looking Forward

As I embark on this new chapter in my professional journey, I am filled with anticipation and enthusiasm. The fellowship year ahead holds the promise of significant learning, collaboration with dedicated colleagues, and meaningful contributions to pediatric radiology. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this esteemed program and to serve the Cincinnati community.

My journey from Beijing to Cincinnati has been marked by curiosity, dedication, and a passion for helping others. I am excited to see what the future holds and to make the most of this incredible opportunity in pediatric radiology.
