Dr. Jennifer Nicholas, MD, MHA, MEd, section chief of ultrasound at Cincinnati Children’s, is a passionate educator and advocate for ultrasound’s role in pediatric health care. Her dedication extends globally through clinical and educational outreach in regions like Haiti, Central and South America, and Africa. Her expertise and enthusiasm were pivotal in the success of the RSNA Global Learning Center (GLC) initiative at Hospital Metropolitano in Quito, Ecuador—the first GLC site in South America.
Dr. Nicholas played a central role as the U.S. program director, contributing to the development of innovative training tools, such as 3D printing for anatomical models, and fostering connections between local and international radiology communities. Her efforts in organizing in-person and virtual learning opportunities, tailoring education to the local context, and bridging communication gaps highlight her exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing radiologic education worldwide.
Dr. Nicholas has made substantial contributions to advancing global radiologic education. As a former Cincinnati Children’s fellow, Dr. Nicholas brings an extensive career background, having held prominent positions at Akron Children’s, Lurie Children’s in Chicago, and Rainbow Babies Hospital in Cleveland, where she served as the division chief of Pediatric Radiology and vice chair of education.
