Department Welcomes Dr. Ryan Borgemenke, Pediatric Radiology Fellow at Cincinnati Children’s

Hello everyone, my name is Ryan Borgemenke and I am one of the new Pediatric Radiology fellows here at Cincinnati Children’s. I grew up in Mason, Ohio, which is about 35 minutes north of downtown. Some of my favorite things about growing up in the area include going to the Cincinnati Zoo and Kings Island, as well as cheering on all the Cincinnati sports teams.

I wanted to work in healthcare ever since I witnessed my brother overcome health obstacles after he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. My background in chemical engineering piqued my interest in Radiology because I love how technology can be used to help people. I chose the Cincinnati Children’s Fellowship program not only because of the high case volume and variety of cases, but because I aspire to be like many of the physicians I knew throughout childhood, many of whom had also competed training here (including my father, who completed pediatric residency in 1992).

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Anna, and dogs, Teddy and Bentley. I also enjoy visiting many of the local parks, watching Cincinnati sports, traveling (our favorite trip so far has been Spain and Italy), and listening to audiobooks. The last book I read was The Body by Bill Bryson (my favorite author) and the last movie I saw was Toy Story 5
