The Patient and Family Experience (PFE) radiology committee would like to introduce Alma Itzel Salazar Hernandez. She will be joining the monthly PFE meetings as a parent advisor to discuss patient surveys and current processes in radiology.
Alma and her husband David have two children, David Jr. (8 years old) and Lyla (7 years old). Alma loves the idea that Cincinnati Children’s listens to patients and family members to make improvements to the current processes for the best patient experience. She believes that listening equates to caring.
She hopes that by sharing her experience, it can help others understand the Hispanic perspective. She shares that good eye contact and a welcoming face can improve the radiology experience even when a child goes through challenging or sometimes painful treatments or tests.
Alma shares that their experience with voiding cystourethrogram exams has given her a good perspective on the challenges faced in radiology. She looks forward to collaborating with PFE for a positive impact on the team.
Carey Eiser is an anesthesia nurse in Radiology's MRI division at Cincinnati Children’s. A KU graduate from Scott City, Kansas, Carey loves learning, connecting with diverse cultures, and enjoys outdoor activities like tennis and golf. Her passion for helping others led to a mission trip to Swaziland, Africa. Currently pursuing graduate studies at Xavier University, she finds joy in continuous learning.
Glenn Miñano is a media specialist in the Department of Radiology, providing graphic design, photography, printing, video services, and administration of the department’s online properties. His works have been published in several medical articles, such as the American Journal of Radiology and the American Institute of Ultrasound. He has been providing these services to the Radiology Department since 1996.
Meredith Towbin is a freelance copy editor and writer. She has copyedited the Department of Radiology’s blog since it launched. She also works as a copy editor for the home improvement website BobVila.com. Her writing has been featured on HuffPost as well as other writing sites.
