Cincinnati Children’s Radiology Department is proud to recognize Dr. Jungwhan “John” Choi, assistant professor of Radiology, on his selection to the Council of Early Career Investigators in Imaging (CECI) Class of 2026-2027 through the Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research. This distinguished honor recognizes promising early-career investigators who are making meaningful contributions to medical imaging research and demonstrating leadership potential within the field. The year-long CECI program is designed to prepare, support, and connect researchers as they navigate the evolving landscape of National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding, grant development, and imaging science research opportunities.
As part of the program, participants gain experience in research advocacy and have the opportunity to engage directly with policymakers in Washington, D.C. Through Capitol Hill visits and meetings with members of Congress, CECI members help educate federal leaders about the importance of continued investment in medical imaging research and innovation.
The Academy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing innovation in imaging science, works to strengthen medical imaging research through advocacy, education, and collaboration. By promoting sustained federal funding, supporting the professional growth of imaging researchers, and highlighting the value of medical imaging and image-guided therapies, the organization helps drive advancements that improve patient care and healthcare outcomes nationwide.

Glenn Miñano is a media specialist in the Department of Radiology, providing graphic design, photography, printing, video services, and administration of the department’s online properties. His works have been published in several medical articles, such as the American Journal of Radiology and the American Institute of Ultrasound. He has been providing these services to the Radiology Department since 1996.
