Hi, I’m Trae Bellamy. Just a few months ago, I joined Cincinnati Children’s as an MRI technologist, marking an exciting new chapter in my career. I’m a recent graduate of the Advanced Medical Imaging Technology (AMIT) program at the University of Cincinnati, with licenses in both magnetic resonance and nuclear medicine. My background and education prepared me for this role, but it’s been the hands-on experience at Cincinnati Children’s that has truly deepened my commitment to this field.
Roots in a Small-Town Community
I’m originally from Huron, Ohio, a small town nestled on the shores of Lake Erie and close to the famous Cedar Point Amusement Park. Growing up in Huron, I spent much of my time outdoors, whether it was playing sports, relaxing at the beach, or experiencing the thrill of roller coasters. Today, I still enjoy the outdoors and have picked up hobbies like hiking and disc golf. When I’m not at work, I love spending quality time with my niece and nephews, who always keep me on my toes and bring me plenty of joy.
Pursuing a Career in Medical Imaging
My decision to pursue medical imaging stemmed from my fascination with cutting-edge technology and my love for anatomy and physiology. It’s a field that merges science, technology, and patient care in unique and impactful ways. At Cincinnati Children’s, I’m especially drawn to the hospital’s patient-centered approach. Every patient’s story is different, and I’ve noticed how each exam is tailored to the individual needs of the child. Here, it truly feels as if every child is treated as family, a quality that resonates with me deeply.
Working with Passionate Professionals
As an MRI technologist, I interact with a wide array of professionals across different departments every day. It’s been a privilege to work alongside individuals who are not only experts in their fields but also deeply committed to the well-being of each patient. The relationships I’ve built with my colleagues have enriched my work experience and inspired me in ways I hadn’t anticipated. The camaraderie and shared dedication to compassionate care are what make Cincinnati Children’s a truly remarkable place to work.
A Bit About Me Outside of Work
When I’m not at the hospital or spending time outdoors, I enjoy watching movies. The last film I watched was Into the Wild, which, much like my own life, is about exploration and appreciating the journey.
I’m thrilled to be a part of Cincinnati Children’s and look forward to contributing to this incredible team and learning more with each day.
